In Little Sister, Fujiwara no Mitsuko is the thirteen year old fourth daughter of a powerful noble of the Fujiwara clan. Her carefully proscribed life (wearing layers of kimonos, writing poetry, and hiding behind protective screens as a lady of her rank should) is torn asunder when their home is raided and burned by warrior-monks. As the family flees the city, her oldest sister Amaiko's new husband is killed, and Amaiko falls into a catatonic state. Believing that the only way she can help her beloved sister is to go after Amaiko's lost soul, which is seeking her husband's soul, Mitsuko must journey to the netherworld. She is assisted by a tengu, a shape-shifting demon named Goranu, whom she meets when she and Amaiko take shelter in a little shrine. There, she prays to the kami (spirit) of the shrine for help and promises to repair the shrine and see that it is not forgotten. Goranu appears to be the answer to her prayers as he takes her to the Dragon King, to Lord Emma-O (Judge of the Dead), and even to the Land of the Ancestors in her quest to save her sister's soul. Goranu is a mischievous, humorously appealing character, who can be a man or a black-feathered bird-like creature. As he assists Mitsuko, he helps her to find her own courage and abilities and to ultimately reunite her family. The story is told in the first person, in a voice appropriate to Mitsuko's age and background.

Nice.... novel, like the part of story when tengu can be frenz with human, n finally fall in love with mitsuko, well not ending with happy like a fairytale story, yet it's so human n GREAT!!!

Nice BOOKS.. even i still very curious about the rest of the story.... the beginning, the history, but over all this book is so nice, n so clear bout the Egypt :)

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

15-year old Christopher John Francis Boone, or just Christopher Boone, goes to a school for students with special needs because he has a form of autism. Although it is never definitively stated within the story which autistic spectrum condition Christopher has, the summary on the book's inside cover states it to be Asperger syndrome. Christopher is a mathematical savant, has a photographic memory, is extremely observant and never lies. However, he has difficulty understanding human behaviour, gestures and relationships. He dreams of being an astronaut and takes a deep interest in mathematics. He owns a pet rat named Toby, which he feeds with food pellets.

Christopher has many traits that set him apart from others because of his perception of life. He is unable to recognise and comprehend facial expressions besides 'happy' and 'sad' and also has difficulty in understanding metaphors and jokes. He likes lists and facts, has a fear of strangers and new places, and his favourite dream is one in which everyone except him, and 'special people' like him, die. In addition, he is oversensitive to information and stimuli. For this reason, he screams and reacts violently to people who touch him. However, he doesn't mind pressing his fingers against those of his parents as a gesture of love. He curls up and groans to protect himself against overwhelming noise or information.

Christopher hates the colours yellow and brown, but loves red. This extends to adding red food dye to brown- or yellow-coloured food (and being unable to eat two different kinds of food that are touching), and also his belief that seeing three, four or five red cars in a row means it's a "good," "quite good," or "super good" day, respectively, while four yellow cars signify a "black" day. Finally, he dislikes eating food from new places and the furniture being moved.
